Shed-Less Program:

RBK is exited and pleased to bring you Shed-Less. A new treatment program designed to rid both your home and pet of that messy, clingy, shedding and down right annoying pet hair. Shed-Less is a carefully designed and tested treatment program for pets that have a shedding problem.

Within one to two amazing treatments, your pet’s coat will be relieved of 60% or 80% of “dead” and unwanted shedding hair while still having your pet's normal grooming sessions done on a regular basis. As you already know, the cleaning of this unwanted hair from your home, car, etc., is not only time consuming for the pet parent, but also VERY messy and when done professionally, expensive.

Just what does this “extra” treatment consist of? In our facility, we use a “steady stream or needle spray” power attachment to wash and separate your pet’s coat hair. Circulation, stimulation and basic massage techniques are then used with a special rubber mitt while applying an ALL NATURAL shampoo. This special shampoo on your pet’s coat and skin is left on your pet and timed. Thorough rinsing and conditioning are next. At this point, a high velocity hair dryer is used to separate and eliminate excess coat inch by inch. The final step in our process is brushing, combing and carding your pet’s coat with special industry tools, which are not available to the average pet owner. Conditioner and/or cologne, if you choose for your pet to have it, finalize this very unique treatment.

A Couple of Things To Remember:

1. First, your pet’s hair follicles will be disturbed up to 24 hours after Shed-Less, and you may notice some shedding.
2. Second, when a pet is excited to see his or her owner, natural “stress shedding” can occur.
3. Lastly, after the first 24 hours, your pet’s coat will “settle down” and show a remarkable Shed-Less appearance…along with your home.

Specialties:

In addition to bathing and nail trimming RBK also offers the following grooming services. The below services are available by appointment or during a pet's boarding stay at our facility. All of RBK's grooming services are done in a soft, low-key environment. RBK's goal is for your companion to enjoy themselves while being groomed. For this reason, RBK provides complimentary music, complimentary massage rub-downs that take place during the grooming, and a viewing window between your companion and the front office, so that our guest can see all that is going on around them. Certain services that are provided for RBK's dog guests are not provided for RBK's cat guests for the animal's safety. However, in most cases, RBK provides an equivalent service that has been designed specifically for RBK's cat guests that serves the same purpose.

• Clipping: The breed of the dog, the length of their coat, and the desired cut will determine what clipping blades RBK will use. For the safety of your companion, RBK uses specially designed clippers with protection guards, has the clipping blades sharpened on a regular basis, or as needed, to ensure there are no nicks or hair pulls and have a trained and caring grooming staff.

• Hand Stripping: This type of grooming is done on wiry coats. The groomer hand-pulls the dead undercoat or uses a stripping tool. This is done when the dog is shedding so the hair is easy to remove.

• Hand Scissoring: This method of grooming is considered a form of art. It takes many years to learn to scissor the pet's coat correctly. Scissoring is a finishing step and should show a finished pattern.

• Brushing: Brushing removes all dead hair and mats from the coat. Brushing also helps stimulate the coat and skin.

• Dematting: Removal of mats from the coat needs to be done before the bath because water tends to tighten the mats. Small mats can be removed by hand or a dematting tool.

• Coat Conditioning: Clipping, cutting, brushing or scissoring stimulates hair growth. This is considered conditioning of the coat. There are also products that are made to help condition the pet's coat. (Special Shampoo, Oil treatment, Etc.)

 

Bathing & Nails:

With all natural shampoo as well as special shampoo, automatic lifting and lowering bathing tubs, special safety appliances, years of experience and a professional touch, RBK offers bathing and nail trimming services for both dogs and cats. In addition to RBK's own shampoo, owners can also bring their shampoo. Depending upon the requirements of the owner's shampoo there may be an additional charge.
